Why a Mac Pro?
Graphics and video editing require extra performance that the iMac and MacBook Pro can't offer.   With a two dual-core Intel Xeon processors, up to 32GB RAM, and an Nvidia 7300GT graphics card, it offers good performance.  This is a great entry-level Mac Pro.
For video-intensive applications, such as video editing, a higher performance video card can be installed.  Please contact me for upgrade info.

Backups are a breeze, and by simply adding an additional hard drive, Apple's built-in Time Machine can help keep the moments you worked so hard to capture safe from hard drive failure.
Solid state drives (SSDs) can also be installed, offering up to twenty times the performance of a standard hard drive.

Mac OS X Lion
This Mac Pro is running Mac OS X Lion, 10.7.5.  If you need a Mac that supports a higher version of Mac OS X, please contact me!
Mac OS X Lion is the highest version of Mac OS X that this Mac can run due to hardware limitations.  With Lion, recently released Apps cannot be installed - for example, Google Chrome, Office, and almost all other Apps are no longer supported and developed for this version of Mac OS, and have not been for at least a couple years.  Even Safari is outdated, and cannot load many webpages properly, since it does not support the latest HTML and security standards.
If you are looking to use this as a 'daily driver' Mac desktop, please contact us or look at our other listings, since this computer is NOT ideal for web browsing and interfacing with other modern software.
We do not take returns on these computers for buyer's remorse situations, where compatibility is not checked before purchasing, since they are frequently damaged in return shipping due to the computer's own weight and the difficulty to pack them safely, resulting in a perfectly good computer being turned into junk scrap metal.  This is terrible for the environment.
Please be a responsible buyer and ensure this computer fits your needs before purchasing, making sure that your hard-earned money goes towards something that will fit your needs.
Apple's built-in Migration Assistant makes it easy to switch from a PC, or to transfer your files from a different Mac. It can also run older versions, if needed.

This Mac is backed by our 60-Day Fresh Apple Guarantee. Hardware defects, with the exception of accidental damage, are covered within 60 days of the date of purchase. Software is not covered, since third-party software can cause issues (in which case you would need to contact the manufacturer of the software) - however, if your issue is software-related, we can try to help you fix the issue remotely. With software issues, if all else fails, you are welcome to send your hard drive in, and we can perform a fresh install of Mac OS X.
And of course, we'll be glad to provide support beyond 60 days!

Local Pickup:
We welcome local pickup at our store in Harvard, Illinois.  You can save on shipping, inspect and try out your Mac in-person, and we'll be there to answer any questions you may have.  Before purchasing, please contact us for payment methods to pay on pickup.
We do (unfortunately) have to charge 7% sales tax for local pickup and orders shipped within Illinois.
