A charming set of 6 French Limoges porcelain plates by Raynaud & Co. Circa early 20thc. Mounted with a silver rim bearing French hallmarks and crafted by the firm of Parisian silversmith Emile Puiforcat. This particular pattern is in the style of 18th century Chinese export porcelain and was a special edition made exclusively for Puiforcat as a collaboration between Raynaud and the famous silversmith firm. In good condition for age and type, no chips or cracks. The silver rims bear hallmarks of the French crab for .800/1000 silver. Note that one plate has a different design to the rim than the others in the set, this rim is hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark used from 1838, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). Each plate bearing makers marks for the silversmith firm of Emile Puiforcat. Plates measure 7 5/8" diameter.
