MINI recommends the following Engine Oils:
5W-30 Weight for all MINIS produced up to and including the model year 2015
0W-20 LL-14 FE+ for all 3rd Generation MINIs model year 2016 and later
We highly recommend that you change the oil in your new MINI more often than recommended by MINI. In our experience, the turbocharger will experience less issues when the oil is kept clean and changed frequently - we recommend oil change intervals around 5,000 miles. This is a small investment that can reduce the chance of turbo problems!
